Internship Interview with Leanna Wunsch
Leanna Wunsch
completed her internship at Brandification in the field of social media from June to September 2020. We talked to her about how she experienced her time as member of the Brandification team.

Leanna, we had the pleasure to get to know you during your time at Brandification. But please tell our readers a little bit about yourself first.
I am currently attending ICN Business School in Nürnberg pursuing an International Business Bachelors degree. I also grew up in the United States and play soccer.
Why did you decide to do an internship at Brandification?
I decided to do my internship at Brandification because I am a fan of start-up companies. Start-up companies typically allow one to possess more ownership, truly be part of the company’s growth, and watch the company succeed over your time being there.
What did your typical day at Brandification look like and what were your tasks?
My typical day involved a team meeting in the morning where we would discuss all tasks throughout the team and dissolve any uncertainty that anyone had. After the meeting, I would start working on my tasks as well as any new tasks I was given throughout the day. The tasks I was given included doing research, managing Facebook and Instagram, attend meetings along with other tasks.
What did you like best about Brandification?
What I liked best about Brandification was how well the team worked together and you could really see that they are like a small family. If anyone had any problems, everyone was happy to help. It was a great atmosphere to work in and a great experience overall.
…and what was the biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge for me was probably my language barrier. Since German is only my second language, it was sometimes difficult for me to understand what was being said. Luckily, I was allowed to do everything in English and everyone was there for me if I did not understand something.
Which moment during your internship will you never forget?
There are a lot of things I will never forget but, one thing stands out to me. Our team off-site. There, I learned the most about Brandification and my colleagues. During my internship, I was able to attend two of the off-sites and I personally feel every company should take part in a team off-site because it really brings the team into one unit that understands all tasks, needs and wants throughout the entire company.
What are your top learnings from your internship?
Over the course of my internship, I learned more than I thought I would. A few things I learned included how important touchpoints are throughout a company, an insight into the marketing field and finally, why so many people prefer to work at a startup company rather than a bigger corporate company.
What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future involve graduating and obtaining my bachelors degree in the next two years. After, I want to work in the field of marketing.
